Italy in the year 1494
This map depicts Italy at the opening of the Italian Wars. These wars were waged by the French monarchy in an attempt to conquer and annex the duchies of Milan and Naples, places they had claim to by royal lineage. However the plan backfires, the French are defeated and ultimately the Empire of Spain comes to posses both provinces.
